Rosslare Europort Update October 2024
For the past 18 months or so, DBFL has been providing civil and structural engineering services for our client John Paul Construction on what is a nationally important infrastructure project at Rosslare Europort for the OPW & Irish Rail. The €170m Terminal 7 Upgrade Project consists of over 35 buildings covering various import and export functions across the site, circa 120,000m2 of concrete Ro-Ro parking area, new primary access arrangements and check-ins, upgraded car check-in facilities and overall infrastructure upgrade works. The progress to date has been phenomenal and recently the new dedicated Freight Access Road & Freight Check-In facilities, Trailer Export Yard plus other key infrastructure elements are live and operational.
The delivery of such a modern, state of the art facility, whilst maintaining a live operational port, was a significant challenge to all involved. However, the commitment and great work done so far by everyone is now there to see. And it’s not finished yet!
